At a recent ceremony the Friends were presented with a cheque by the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Mrs Louise Clubley, from the donations collected for her three chosen charities - the FFCH being one of them. During Cllr Clubley’s tenure, we have organised a number of fund raising events and she kindly made time to come along and join in with events.
A beautiful mural, funded by FFCH, has been created in the childrens area at the hospital. How many rabbits can you find?
Our goal - to provide a stimulating and cheerful environment. We hope you agree this has been achieved and look forward to hearing the reactions to the mural and hope the children have lots of fun exploring the colourful animals, plants and scenery.
Fareham Community Hospital Wellbeing Garden is officially opened. What we’ve all helped to create is a safe space where staff can relax, patients can enjoy and volunteers can grow. The garden is already being well utilised and it’s exciting to hear more groups will soon be using the space. Ask at the FCH foyer desk for information on how to access the garden.
Easter bunnies. Easter Gifts and refreshments were for sale.
A ceremony was held at Burridge Village Hall on Sunday 15th September, to announce the winners of Sarisbury Best In Bloom.
We are delighted to say that the Friends of Fareham Community Hospital Gardening Team, ably lead by Bob Cowan, won first prize in the Community Floral category. The award was presented by the Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Louise Clubley.
Very well done and congratulations to all the winners. and participants.
The friends recently purchased 60 new mugs for our chemotherapy and renal patients who attend Fareham Community Hospital. We invited the children from Hook with Warsash CofE Academy, years 4 and 5, to come up with artwork that “makes me smile”. They presented us with 60 beautiful pieces of art which we had transferred onto the individual mugs in the hope that it will lift the spirits of those enjoying some refreshment on their journey.
On Friday 18th July, 7 children involved in the project attended the hospital where we unveiled the mugs to some of our committee members, patients and nurses and of course some of our volunteers.
This project was the brainchild of our hospital liaison manager Lee and was very kindly funded by Hampshire Cllr Joanne Burton.
