Who We Are

Fareham Community Hospital, opened by The Princess Royal on 21st  October 2010, is an innovative facility bringing together health services from  across the area. Please refer to Our Hospital page for full details.

 

The Friends of Fareham Community Hospital (FFCH), formed in 2011.  became a Registered Charity in September of the same year.

 

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and all ages (over 16),  recruitment is in accordance with FFCH recruitment policy.

 

The volunteer service is provided throughout the week, usually between  9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and at weekends, if necessary, with flexible working hours  to suit the individual.

Volunteer Roles

  • Provide hospitality to meetings, talks and other initiatives such as the Vaccination services, Chemotherapy Clinic and Renal Dialysis unit. 
  • Provide a refreshment service at the hospital
  • Provide a second-hand book sales trolley service to raise funds  
  • Support local health initiatives & projects at the Hospital through fund  raising and providing Volunteers where needed
  • Support the dementia services by providing volunteers at the Fareham Memory Drop-in Groups, Mondays 10:30 to 12:30 and 1pm to 3pm
  • Provide a return Transport Service between home and the hospital  
  • Gardening team
  • Encourage local organisations and businesses to support the Hospital

 

Training is given prior to starting work as a volunteer
